Heat Transfer / Heat Press Explained

Heat Transfer On Corporate Gifts Explained - Perkal Promotional Product Suppliers

Heat transfer, or heat press branding, is another commonly used method to imprint a logo onto promotional items, and how it’s done is quite simple.

Firstly, a design is printed on a Teflon-coated paper made to withstand extreme pressures and heat, while the back is coated with an extra-strong adhesive which allows to print to be stuck onto the promotional item. The design is then trimmed and details to perfection.

Secondly, the design has to go through the heat press. It’s placed into the machine which then presses the design into the promotional item using roughly 30 – 40 psi (pounds per square inch) of pressure. Heat is then applied to help the adhesive glue the design to the promotional item and force it to stick.

This method creates a lasting logo design on promotional items which explains why it’s so popular among companies looking to brand their items for years to come.
